Rainbow Jews is a pioneering oral history project showcasing the lives of Jewish Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people in the UK from the 1950s to today. It was launched in October 2012.

We invite you to explore this hidden history – uncovered here for the very first time. Join us and discover how the stories and experiences of LGBT Jews have shaped British culture and society; and find out what inspired Rainbow Jews project manager Surat R. Knan to set up this landmark initiative.

The Rainbow Jews exhibition launched on 06/02/2014 is the first big milestone in the Rainbow Jews History collection. Take a look who’s been involved (so far!). We are proud to say that over 100 individuals and organisations have given us their time, energy, financial support, help, advise, and professional expertise: credits Rainbow jews Feb 2014

THANK YOU!

"I am honoured to support Rainbow Jews and to celebrate the huge positive contribution that Jewish people make to the LGBT community and to our wider society. Jewish and LGBT people share many parallels of oppression and of triumph over adversity. As victims of prejudice, it is important for us to stand together united against all hate."
